“Christianity
is my religion.”
Is
not what the Lord sees
So
what makes the distinction,
To
the One we are trying to please?
It
is not at all enough
To
believe there is a God
And
acknowledge the power of
A
Supreme One who is not flawed.
Didn’t
the Israelites know God’s power?
He
parted the Red Sea before them
But
still their love turned sour
Whenever
they encountered a problem.
God
even rained down manna
To
feed his people the Israelites.
And
even though they sang hosanna,
The
selfish city only complained of their plights.
It
is human to long and crave
For
things that make our lives pleasurable,
So
we want to sin and misbehave
And
still shout “God is able!”
Do
not serve God the way you like—
Not
like Sodom and Gomorrah,
For
them God did strike,
Same
with Ananias and Sapphira.
Looking
to justify our deeds and sins
With
quotes and Biblical scriptures
Is
where self-deception begins,
For
God knows the heart of all creatures.
Sunday
morning in the chapel
Is
not what it is about.
Study
and OBEY the Bible,
Then
by God you can be called devout.
